Hi I'm Jayna Casados

I grew up in California. I'm a musician and I plan to be a music education major.

About Me

I play bass clarinet, bassoon, and a little bit of tuba. I was in marching band all 4 years of high school, and I plan on attending BYU-I and majoring in music and maybe minoring in Child Development.

Why I am a Mormon

I made a lot of mistakes in high school, and I got into trouble with hiding various relationships from my parents. I ended up with a lot of emotional baggage as a 15 year old, and all I could do was turn to the Lord for help. 2 years later, at 17, I had the overwhelming feeling that I needed to serve a mission. I had been telling myself for years that I wouldn't do it, but after opening up myself to that option changed how I looked at the church. I made my own decision when I turned in my mission papers. I did not have to heed the prompting I felt, it was my choice, and mine alone. I know agency is one of the biggest gifts we've been given, and that the Lord will never forsake us no matter what we may do.

How I live my faith

I'm a music director and a family history consultant in my ward. I have also served in out youth program for girls 12-18 as a member of the presidency, and I was a secretary of a group of girls who were called to serve over the stake girl's camp. In September of 2016, I will be serving my mission in Charlotte, North Carolina, and I'll come home in March of 2018.
