Hi I'm Stephen Burch

I love music, learning, and culture. I'm currently a missionary in Montana. I'm a rock n' roller, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hey, there! I really, really love music. From lonely violins to loud electric guitars, music is the language of the soul and I like to hear it spoken. I'm working on speaking it, too, as I play some piano and rock the bass guitar in a band with friends. I graduated from Westwood High School through the IB program, and, after test results came in, was awarded the IB diploma. A significant event in my life was participating in a three-week cultural exchange to Azerbaijan, where I lived with a host family and was involved in leadership and social entrepreneurship training. It is here that I gained an intense interest and appreciation for world religion, and sought to study it for my own pleasure, as well as for my IB research paper and personal project. I like my time to myself, but I also like spending time with a group of close friends. I worked at a music store, which was one of the best things ever.

Why I am a Mormon

This church is where I have grown up, but don't think that means I've simply continued in the footsteps of my parents. As I mentioned before, I've spent a lot of time learning about different religions, specifically about Islam. Every religion I've studied is beautiful, but none of them have had the same kind of spiritual impact on me that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has.

How I live my faith

I'm serving as a full-time missionary for The Lord in the Montana Billings Mission. I have shared the gospel with my friends in other ways before that. I was never too pushing with it, though. In fact, when I finally invited a friend of mine to church, she looked at me and said, "Finally! I was waiting for you to ask!" I follow the standards and teachings of the gospel. It brings me happiness, and I truly believe it can do the same for you.
