Hi I'm Jake Loy

I was born and raised in Southern California. I am the youngest of four children, I have two brothers and a sister.

About Me

I am the youngest child in my family and I just graduated from high school. I will be serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints in July of 2016. After my mission I will attend college and possibly work towards becoming a dentist. I enjoy playing sports and wake boarding. My brothers and I all played baseball through high school.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church and was baptized when I was eight. My whole life the Gospel of Jesus Christ has just felt right to me. I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior and Redeemer. I know that He suffered and atoned for my sins and for everybody sins and through Him we can be forgiven for our mistakes. The atonement allows us to become better people, without the atonement we cannot have hope. I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God and that as we read it with real intent we can and we will receive answers to our prayers. I know that Joseph Smith translated the Book of Mormon by the power of God and I know that he was a prophet. I am so thankful that I am a Mormon. I am so thankful for this Gospel and the peace and happiness that brought into my life.

How I live my faith

I was the in charge of 250 youth that live in my area, along with the help of another girl. We had a committee and our job was to plan activities for the youth for the year. It was great opportunity as I got to be in charge of meetings. It really helped with my leadership skills. At school I always tried to get a good example for my non-member friends. Going through high school was not always easy, but I learned that as I did what i was suppose to do I felt good about my self and knew that God was happy with me.

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Jake Loy
The Atonement of Jesus Christ is when Christ took upon Himself the sins and pains and of the world. Everything that we go through in this life Jesus Christ has suffered for it. Every pain, sickness, mental, emotional and physical illness we go through, our Savior suffered all of those pains for us. He will take our burdens off of our shoulders we just have to have faith that He can make us clean and feel peace. We can have hope because of the gift of the Atonement. It was necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life because God knew that we were going to need a Savior. He knew that we were going to make mistakes, which is why He sent his Son, Jesus Christ to suffer and die for us. Show more Show less
