Hi I'm Courtney Hatch

Hello, I am a Mormon from Utah and have been since my childhood. I'm 55 years old a husband, father and grandfather.

About Me

I've been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (LDS) all my life. I trace my ancestry back to the days of Joseph Smith. As a youth I grew up in the LDS church and remember fondly all the primary teachings and time I spent in Church as a child. My parents loved me and taught me about Jesus and lived lives that followed in his path. I went to Weber High School and then to Weber State University in Ogden, UT. I was a missionary for the LDS Church in the Korea Pusan Mission from 1980-1982. I graduated from College in 1987 with a bachelors degree in Mathematics. I was also Married to the sweetest women I know and have been married to her for 32 years. She is everything to me and together we have 5 wonderful children and 6 grandchildren. I work for the Department of Defense and have been doing so since 1987 when I finished college. My Job has had me travelling the world. I have also done 2 tours in Afghanistan as a federal agent for the department of defense and worked there to support Operation Enduring Freedom. This work I found to be critical to the defense of our great nation and keeping us safe and secure. As you can guess I am an older man of 55 years but Love life and all it brings, it is great to be alive in this time on the earth!!

Why I am a Mormon

I have found a testimony of this the LDS church through prayer, study, pondering and through the answers to my prayers. Even though I have lived as a Mormon all my life I still had to gain a testimony of who God Is, who Jesus is and his mission of love, and what the Holy Ghost speaks to me. I have felt the Holy Spirit witness to me the truth of the LDS gospel. I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior and loves me. Through priesthood power of blessings given to me and those I have been blessed to share through the power of God I have seen Miracles performed and know that nothing but the power of God and His priesthood could have made those things happen. I have felt his love in the low points and times in life and the lifting of my soul through the Savior's Atonement. This Power, Authority and Love keeps me on this path in life. It is here in the Lords Church and I know it to be true. That is why I am a Mormon. that is why I continue to strive to be like my savior and better myself. This is the true Gospel of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I live my faith like most active members of the church. I attend meetings as often as I can. I pay a full tithing and believe in this law. I love my family and work to help them all follow our Savior but allow them to find their own faith and help as they ask. oOne of my favorite callings in the church is to teach and I have done this through many varied callings and opportunities to serve. This by no means says that I am perfect and I am always striving to overcome my individual weaknesses in life and improve myself. it is a life long journey and trial and I struggle daily with what I find as stepping stones to improve my faith and my worthiness. In short I am a human and a child of God and want to be with him in the next life. I want to be there with my wife and children and grandchildren and so forth. I was born of goodly parents and hope to someday be with them in life after this earthly existence. It is the hope and faith I have in the next life that brings meaning to what goes on in this life and gives me the strength to get back up and keep trying as I go through the trials of this life.

In whom should we have faith?

Courtney Hatch
For us to become closer to Heavenly Father we must develop and grow our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. It is through faith in his atonement we repent of our sins and forsake them. it is through faith in his love for us we get through the hard times that face all of us in this life. It is in faith in his love that we work to be more like him and strive to emulate him. This is how we find true happiness. Show more Show less
