Hi I'm Andrew

I grew up in Utah. I enjoy spending time with my family. I enjoy the outdoors. I'm an Eagle Scout. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the oldest of five children. This is significant, because my Dad's occupation has required him to travel throughout my life. He opens and manages various International markets; this gave me the opportunity to be the man of the house whenever he was on a business trip. This has taught me to be a leader, be responsible, and make kind decisions as I tend my siblings. I play the piano, and have been practicing since I was nine years old. I joined orchestra playing the violin in sixth grade, and continued through my sophomore year of High School. An interesting fact about me is that I am six feet and six inches tall. I was one of the tallest students at my High School. I try my best to maintain high standards. I don't swear, I am always as kind as I can be, I look for positives in others rather than judging them, and I am constantly exploring ways to become better in my life. I love participating in events that involve working with others. This has included activities such as choir, orchestra, swimming, Young Men's, and even fun clubs like the Jedi Council Club. I am fascinated with the many aspects of technology. I can name the most random facts about cell phones, and I know my way around computers. I have also learned basic coding. Most importantly, I love life. I am also a Missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and I love the work!

Why I am a Mormon

The main reason I've chosen to be a member of this church is that it brings so much hope into my life. I know that by living the Gospel and following the commandments, I can be with my family for eternity. I know that through the Atonement, I can be cleansed of my sins and return to reside with my Father in Heaven. I know that the Holy Ghost brings comfort into our lives, and that through him we can receive revelation and guidance for all of life's challenges. I know that Joseph Smith was a true prophet, and I know that through the power of Jesus Christ he restored the true church to the Earth and translated the Book of Mormon. I know that our God has called a living prophet, Thomas S. Monson, to guide and direct our church today. I love the gospel, and I know that through it I can do all things.

How I live my faith

Throughout my life, I've had many opportunities to live my faith. The first is the opportunity that I've had to teach the youth of my ward. In our Young Men's groups, we are randomly assigned topics for lessons that we give the following week. I find it interesting that you learn so much from teaching each other in these classes. Another opportunity I've had was being a home teacher. I have been able, since I was 14, to meet and teach several families in the wards I've lived in. Each time I home teach, my companion and I take turns preparing a lesson/spiritual thought, and we just visit with the family. It is an amazing experience. In my ward, I've had the callings of being in young men's presidencies. Other ways I've lived my faith include preparing musical numbers for Sacrament Meeting, preparing talks for Sacrament meeting, and by living my life as an example to others of what we as the LDS church represent.
