Hi I'm Hannah

I study Latin. I love trying new foods. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

In high school, I studied Latin for four years and discovered my love for the classics. I also love studying science - developmental biology and neuroscience are fascinating! Now I am searching for the right major, possibly in one of these fields, at BYU. Trail-running is my fav! I've had experiences running in Alaska's mountains that seemed to draw me right into the heart of wild nature. I could listen to classical music for hours. Bach is great. I play what I can on the piano for enjoyment. My parents got divorced when I was very young. Somehow, despite many real and painful challenges, there is love in my family. One of the many far-reaching results of the divorce is the opportunity I've had to know life in two extremes: Alaska and Chicago. I have been called to serve in the California Long Beach Mission!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints because, through it, I can grow closer to the Lord Jesus Christ than by any other way. This is important to me because Christ, my Savior and Redeemer, has paid the price for my reconciliation with God, who is my loving Heavenly Father and the true source of happiness and peace. My relationship with Christ is strengthened by this Church because it alone holds the full truth of the gospel taught by Christ when He lived on the earth, as well as the proper authority to receive God's ongoing guidance through modern prophets. As a Latter-Day Saint living faithfully, I can come to know my Savior. It turns out, the more I strive to reach Him the closer He seems to enter into my life. I am so grateful for the role the Church plays in facilitating this. It is an excellent network of service, which is central to discipleship.

How I live my faith

Growing up in Chicago, I was one of the very few Church members at my enormous high school. I loved every minute of the challenge it was to represent my beliefs and live my faith knowing it made me stand out. Simply having a testimony blessed my own life, as well as the lives of my friends, classmates, and even teachers. I treasure the moments in which I saw these children of God begin to sense their Father's love for them. This happened when the Spirit of God touched their hearts - often during conversation about faith, family, love, revelation, obedience, or happiness. The wonderful feelings I felt as I helped others find God during my high school years fueled my desire to serve the Lord as a full-time missionary. I am now living my faith by preparing to serve in the California Long Beach Mission.
