Hi I'm Annmarie Brown

I grew up in Northern Virginia. I love to play the piano, cook, and take pictures. I am currently a missionary. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I grew up playing the piano and hated every minute of it until I got to the point that I could play whatever I wanted and I realized that it was a gift from Heavenly Father and now I love it! I don't have as much time to play as I used to because I attended a year at Brigham Young University - Idaho and was busy studying to get into the nursing program. I loved learning about the body and how it works. I loved meeting new people at school and learning about different people's lives and lifestyle. I love to cook! Even if it's not that impressive, it is a stress reliever. I love to take photos. I believe there is beauty in the small details; the everyday things. I am currently a missionary for the Church! I am serving in the Samoa, Apia mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of the peace that comes from the gospel. I especially gained a testimony of this in recent years when I had to make big life decisions. I saw my non-member friends trying to make the same decisions and being really frustrated and anxious, settling on a choice because they had no way of asking if this was the right choice for them. I had the knowledge of prayer, Heavenly Father, and the Holy Ghost to help me make these decisions and I saw the huge blessing that came from it. Even after such decisions, I had so many more trails and emotional pains that I could not have bore without the comfort of the atonement. I knew that Christ had gone through what I had gone through. Even in the loneliest moments, I knew He was there for me.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by doing/acting/treating others/walking/talking as Christ would. Something very dear to me is the ability to put myself outside of a situation and see what/how everyone else is feeling. I live my faith by doing everything I can to help other's feel of Christ's love for them. For others to feel how special they are because they are God's children. This entails always being obedient so I can have the Holy Ghost with me to share of this message and love. Or sacrificing my time and resources to show that a person that they are special. Or doing everything I can do be in tune with the spirit to be guided to know if there is a way I can help someone who I can't neccesarily see needs help. To be a friend to them when no one else is and be prompted to give guidance. I love to teach. I taught relief society at BYU-I and loved it! I loved trying to find ways to make my lesson interesting enough where the sisters could have questions and want to know for themselves about Christ. I lived my faith through teaching by teaching how the Savior taught; by asking questions, giving stories and analogies and posing thought provoking, soul searching questions. I felt closer to Christ as I helped my fellow sisters come closer to Christ.
