Hi I'm Kelly

I grew up in Albany, Georgia. I am kind person. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Albany, Georgia and my birth place will always be in my heart. I have two siblings; my sister is the oldest, my brother is the middle, and I am the youngest. I am a big animal lover and I have wanted to be a vet since I was about 3. We have had animals all my life. I am also a very kind person, who will help anyone in need, all they have to do is ask. I haven't gone through huge tragedies in my life, like my house being destroyed by a hurricane, or watching someone I love be abused, or watching someone die. However, in my life, I have suffered, a lot, and for it, I have learned wisdom beyond my years. I learned not to take things for granted, to be grateful for what you have, even if it isn't much. I learned some of this from being bullied in school. When I was 11 and 12 years old, I was bullied by all the kids in my class, and had no friends, but I still had my parents. I learned to appreciate what I did had, instead of complaining about what I didn't have. I hated the main bully, but as I grew up, I learned to forgive. I am a mature person because of my struggles. Life is hard, but there is always something good in it.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints, or a Mormon because I know Jesus Christ. I have seen his wonders and miracles of the world. When I was 5 months old, my grandfather died and I didn't met him here on Earth. When I was about 17, however, my grandfather came to me in spirit form. To me that is a miracle and a gift. All my life I have felt the Holy Spirit around me. He has given me peace and comfort and joy. When I was younger, I didn't always have friends, but I liked to be a Mormon, because every Sunday I could go to church and actually feel happy for the week, unlike being at school where kids would pick on me. Going to church was and still is my sanctuary. I could go to church and be me. The Spirit is a part of who I am. Through Christ, I can be the truest me, this is why I am a Mormon. I am happy, I am complete, I can be saved through Jesus Christ, I can live in a way that many people who don't know about Jesus, cannot. He is my Savior, my Redeemer, my brother and most importantly my friend. This is why I am a Mormon, because no matter what, I will always have someone by my side, even when all others leave. I will always be loved and I can be myself. I know my Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ and the Holy Ghost lives, because I have met them and they know exactly who I am.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by love. I have gotten to the stage in my life where hating people isn't worth it. I love everyone, even those who have hurt me. Some days are harder than others, but if Christ can do it, so can it. I also live my faith by example. I see how others live in the church and I want to be good like them. Then I see how my siblings live, how their lives are outside of the church and how unhappy they are. So I strive to chose the right so I can have a happier life. How I participate in my ward is with service. A lot of people in my ward ask for my help when they need an extra hand. Like, I will take care of houses when people are out of town, or I will babysit, or I will help someone move. Also, I help teach the children in the ward. The Church has classes and I am a teacher for kids from 3 to 8. I am a substitute teacher when the other teachers are gone.

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

The feelings in a person's heart, that no one else will know. Others can feel similar feelings, but the testimony is something that only one individual will have. Show more Show less
