Hi I'm Holly

I'm a Mormon and I grew up around the world and one thing I have noticed is that the church is the same no matter where you go.

About Me

I'm currently a college student at BYU Idaho studying finance, but I'm about to go on my mission to the Czech/Slovak mission. I like to read, write, and play the flute.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because this is God's church and the only church with the true and living gospel of Christ with the proper priesthood authority. I know that the doctrines taught in this church are true and that the Book of Mormon is the word of God. I know that the church is being led by a prophet of God, Thomas S. Monson.

How I live my faith

I attend church weekly and I try to fulfill all my callings even if it is simply greeting people at the door.

What is the First Vision?

There are so many different religions and beliefs that it's hard to know which one is right. Just within Christianity their are dozens of branches of Christian churches all teaching doctrine with their own spin and twist on them. Surely not all of them are correct though. This is what a young boy, Joseph Smith, was thinking during a time of great religious excitement during the 1800s. He didn't know which of the churches to join so he decided to inquire of the Lord. When he prayed he saw two personages standing before him, God the Father and His son Jesus Christ. Christ told Joseph Smith to join none of the churches because they were all wrong. This experience is known as the First Vision and marks the beginning of the restoration of the church on the earth. Show more Show less
