Hi I'm Tyler Wallentine

Raised in Idaho, ran a marathon, currently serving a mission in Frankfurt, Germany, and still love running. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to run, eat, draw, paint, play the piano, and crack jokes. I am leaving July 6th, of 2016, to serve the Lord in a mission to Frankfurt, Germany, after studying for a few weeks in the MTC. I am excited to get to know the people of Germany and bring the gospel to them, as well as to learn the beautiful language of German, which I have grown to be a little familiar with after taking two years of it in high school--regrettably, not more. After my service I intend on going to school in Utah to study Biochemistry, and I hope that goes well. I'll hope to get married somewhere along that road

Why I am a Mormon

While I grew up in the church and have my familial circumstances to thank for providing me with the foundation to initially become a member, I have recently found out for myself the absolutely real and true reason behind my membership here. I am a Mormon because I have come to learn and love the Book of Mormon, the keystone of our religion, and have a strong testimony, belief, and knowledge of its truthfulness. It is for this reason that I am also serving a mission. The Book of Mormon and LDS church have provided me with the knowledge necessary to live a wonderfully happy life, regardless of hard things that have or have yet to come. I have experienced many of the blessings that come from being a member, including many most sacred in the temples of our church, and it is because of those great blessings and experiences I have had that I want not only myself and my families, but the rest of the world, and all of God's children, to experience the blessings of this church. The eternal magnitude that they have, and happiness that they bring, are greater than any earthly pleasure.

How I live my faith

I think the best way for us to live our faith, and for that basis how I hope to live my faith, is by trying! We need to always be pushing ourselves to be the best we can be. We aren't expected to be perfect today, but we will one day have the chance to achieve that--It is just a matter of how long it will take before we choose to start on that path, and how much we want to try to progress along it. I think the trick for us will be to learn to put our trust entirely in Christ, then show it through our own efforts to follow and emulate Him. We need to be bold in our faith in order to withstand the winds of this ever-crazier world. We need to be the people Christ knows we can be. I hope that we all may be able to emulate Him in our acts of honesty, integrity, courage, morality, and so forth. These are the things, if not any thing else, that truly matter.
