Hi I'm Rachel

I love sun-dried tomato pesto. I am a media practitioner. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Bulacan and my parents are both high school teachers. I am the eldest of 7 siblings. I know, it's a lot, right? I have degree majoring in journalism so it's not surprising that I write a lot (even on walls when I was younger). I love dancing, singing (I do covers of songs too!) and more writing and reading stuff.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church and I was baptized when I was 8 by my dad. At that time, I just got baptized because that's what my parents expected of me. I did a lot of things blindly just because they were expected of me. But as I grow older I started to ask and even question a lot of the things the gospel taught me. I have never felt so lost in my life. That's when I realized I never asked the one person that knows all the answers, our Father in Heaven. So I did and I can now testify that He indeed answers our prayers. I know that Heavenly Father loves and cares for me. I know that He will extend His hand if I ask for help. And I know He will do that same for you.

How I live my faith

Every Sunday, I teach the youth in our church about Jesus Christ and what the Lord wants us to do to be like Him. On ordinary days, I go to work and do research for a TV show. It's a tough and demanding job but it's worth for people to have useful info while being entertained.

Why is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints called Mormons or Mormonism?

I actually do not know why people call members of the church Mormons or our religion Mormonism. Maybe because missionaries invite people to read the Book of Mormon which is another book that testifies of the divinity of Jesus Christ like the Holy Bible. Mormon is the ancient prophet that compiled the book (For example, the records of Jeremiah is called the Book of Jeremiah in the Old Testament). Our members are properly called Latter-Day Saints and the name of our church is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. We believe in the Savior, Jesus Christ, our Heavenly Father and the Holy Ghost. Show more Show less
