Hi I'm Matthew Thiel

I'm grew up in Centerville Utah. I've been called to serve in the Marshall Islands Majuro Mission. I'm a mormon.

About Me

I am an 18 year old young man who graduated from high school this past year. I will be attending college after my mission to the Marshall Islands. I enjoy exercise, work, guitar, spending time with friends and family, and anything outdoors. I played football during high school at the left tackle position. That experience, along with some others, has changed my life. I worked at chick-fil-a for two years and prior to that i worked in the catering section of a theme park.

Why I am a Mormon

This gospel has blessed my life incredibly. There have been many times when I have been angry, confused, downtrodden, depressed, and clueless. When I turned to the Lord, and in turn the scriptures and teaching of prophets, I felt calm, peace, and love Every.... Single.... Time.... If I felt a divine peace that I know did not come from me, then this church, gospel, and God must all be as real as the fabrics of nature around us. I have felt absolute joy because of the way I live, my relationship with my Father in heaven and my family, and from serving others. That is why I am a Mormon, and it is also the reason I choose to serve a two year mission away from my family and friends, so I could hopefully bring that joy to others.

How I live my faith

While growing up I had the privileged of being a leader in several classes and/or quorums. I attend my church meetings and strive to serve others the best I can. I worked closely with my bishop and leaders to help the young men I had stewardship over. I study the Book of Mormon daily, and because of that I know for myself that the book is of divine nature.
