Hi I'm Sharon Ivonne Tinoco

Born from parents from Peru. Raised in Utah. I'm a ballroom dancer and I'm a Mormon

About Me

As far as hobbies go, I seem to be all over the place. As a child, I loved to play the violin. Even until now, I pick it up to play a couple of tunes and to enjoy the sound. Once I got older, for a good chunk of my life, I was a ballroom dancer. While I did follow other styles of dancing, it was certainly ballroom that captured my heart. Once I graduated from high school, I decided to take a break from my dancing. My focus switched to my chosen major for college, Behavioral Science.

Why I am a Mormon

I hit a fork in the road when I was given the decision to either go off to college, graduate, start my career and from there, I would place myself in God’s good grace and see where everything would take me, or go on a mission. At the time I had not gotten my patriarchal blessing yet. I prayed that I would be given direction on this decision. I placed my faith in the hands of God and trusted that what I needed to know would be revealed. When I received that blessing, my mind had been made up. Words will not be able to fully describe the feelings that I have felt at that moment when I received it. My testimony had grown from that great and moving experience and more than ever, I felt so blessed and thankful. As I began to study the Book of Mormon, I had finished it and without a doubt, I received a feeling confirmation. As I attended classes over at The Institute on the UVU campus, I had amazing, wonderful teachers who shared their testimony with us on a daily basis. Before getting endowed, I was given incredible lessons that helped me prepare to go to the temple. Day by day, my testimony had grown more and more and more. With my belief and testimony, I can endure trails and change myself for the better. The power of testimony will shield us at this time and age when the adversary does all that he can in his own power to take away our happiness and our security that we can return back to our Heavenly Father. As I look at my life from what it was a couple of years ago to what it is now, I can tell you I am no longer the same person I was. Through the gospel, I have found a peace and happiness that brings tears to my eyes. Even now, I am far from perfect, but through the Lord, I know I can be complete and whole as I follow his example. I have recognized God’s hand in my life and I can see he has blessed me immensely. He blessed me with knowing the Savior’s atonement and what it can truly do for me. With that, I want to go forth and share with others all that I know.

How I live my faith

I love my ward. Every Sunday Meet is wonderful. It may be a little crazy from time to time considering I am a teacher for the 3 year olds, or Sunbeams. I love taking care of them and teaching them. Along with my partner and I, we prepare new lessons every week for the children. We talk about how much Heavenly Father loves them and about how much He wants them to go back to Him. We also talk about how He shows his love to all of His children. At the end of last year, I decided to make the ultimate decision and share my faith with the world. I decided to become a missionary and invite others to come unto Christ.
