Hi I'm Alan

I was born and raised in Provo, Utah, and raised goats as a hobby when I was a child. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My family has been raising goats for longer than I've been alive. When I became old enough I was given a baby goat from my older sister. I have since enjoyed raising my own goats. Sometimes it was hard to complete my chores every day but I learned a valuable sense of work in caring for my animals. Going out every morning and night to feed and milk them as well as multiple cleaning and building projects on weekends and school breaks was hard but I grew to enjoy it. I also enjoy swimming. When I turned ten I joined my first competitive team and I have loved competing since then. Much of my free time in high school was spent with my team as we practiced or competed. Eventually we managed to win a State Championship during the Short Course season. But most of all I enjoy to challenge myself and it's even better when I have friends by my side to push me. The remainder of my high school experience was spent studying. Learning has always been one of my greatest joys and I would often challenge myself with Advanced Placement classes.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that Jesus Christ lives and loves us. That he loves me. I know that he has restored his church upon the Earth today and has renewed the fullness of the gospel that was lost in the period following his crucifixion and his Apostle's deaths. And I know that when I have struggled or felt pain that he has been there for me, helping me to learn and to grow, as I overcome the obstacles.

How I live my faith

I try my hardest to show others the love that I've felt from Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost. I'm not perfect but I feel that this is the most important step for me to work on as I try to return to, and become like, Heavenly Father. This has led to interesting experiences as I would try to talk to people at school and instead just ended up embarrassing myself. At church I have been active in my Young Men's group and since we have a fairly small group have become close to many of the boys. We are all different but we come together in order to lift each other up and have fun. Now I am a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I am taking that love and faith contained in the gospel message and sharing it with everyone I meet.
