Hi I'm Leonard M Anderson

I grew up in North Logan, Utah. Career: Mechanical Engineer at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard. Currently Retired. I am a Mormon

About Me

My wife and I are the parents of 7 wonderful children and we have 24 grandchildren. We love our association with them and visit them as much as possible. I enjoy reading about engineering and the science how things function. 4 of my 5 sons are engineers and we love to discuss their engineering projects and challenges. I love to associate with people and like to find ways to help them in a meaningful way. I am handy with all kinds of tools and like to build, repair and make things work the way they are designed. I big part of my life is centered in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. As a young man I served a mission for our Church in New Zealand. My wife and I served a mission in Cebu, Philippines from 2005 through 2008, and served a mission in the Church's Nauvoo Temple in 2016.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents were members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints so in a way I am am a member of the Church because I was born into the Church. However, as a young man I determined that I needed to study and investigate the teachings of the Church for myself so that I did not have to rely on just what my parents taught. I read and studied the Book of Mormon and applied a promise that is contained in that book (Moroni 10:4-5) which outlines that if one will read the contents of that Book with a sincere heart and then pray and ask God to witness of its truthfulness that Heavenly Father will tell each of its truthfulness by the power of the Holy Ghost. I have applied that promise to a test and testify that I do know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God - God witnessed to me that it is true. I am a Mormon because I know that the doctrines and teachings contained in the Church outline the way that we can return and live with our Heavenly Father. One of the most wonderful doctrines is that our families can be eternal. I cannot think of a more wonderful thing than to be with my family for all eternity.

How I live my faith

As indicated above, I love people and love to serve them. I like to find ways to help people with situations that they cannot readily solve themselves. I believe that total honesty with those I associate gives the kind of example that the Savior would have each of us to be. I consider that this earth would be a wonderful place to live if everyone was totally honest. I love to study the scriptures - especially those that tell of the Savior and His dealings with us. I spend 1/2 to 1 hour per day in my study of the scripture. I think this helps me to be more Christlike in my life.
