Hi I'm Jake

Born a Chicagoan. I run and play hockey a lot. I could eat bacon or ice cream all day. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently a missionary serving in the Uruguay Montevideo West mission. I love to run and learn new sports and games. I especially love to play hockey both on ice and in the streets, rain or shine. One of my favorite things to do is eat ice cream and be with my family and friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have felt and seen how happy the gospel has both made me and others. Every time I leave church I come home with a good feeling inside of me, and I have felt the same feeling when I am serving others. I have recognized this feeling as the Holy Ghost and this has helped confirm to me that the gospel really is a good thing. The Holy Ghost has also confirmed to me that the Book of Mormon is true and it really is another testament of Jesus Christ. Through this the gospel of Jesus Christ has given me direction in my life, and I know what will happen when I die and what happened before we were on this earth. Because of that I know that I must live righteously and complete the ordinances necessary for me to live with my Heavenly Father once again. I know that this is the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ, and that if we come unto Him we will be saved in the end. I also know that the Holy Ghost is very real and it can help us in discerning truth, half-truths, and falsehood. I am grateful for our prophet Thomas S. Monson, and the quorum of the twelve apostles, and sustain them as leaders of this church.

How I live my faith

I have lived my faith by always making sure I am a good example to others around me. Most of my friends are not members, and because of that I need to make sure I am a positive influence for them, and hopefully they can see the joy I have in living the gospel. One major key to how I live my faith is through service. I love doing service! It always makes me feel so happy, and I know when I serve others that I am also serving the Lord. This helps me continue to live the principles of the gospel and always strive to be like our Savior.
