Hi I'm Jayson!

I'm a Californian born and raised, lover of cars and trucks, avid concert goer, and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

My name is Jayson! I've spent my whole life so far in California. Back in high school I loved spending my time playing football and being around my friends. Today I find joy in serving God on a 2 year mission in the Colorado Fort Collins mission for my church where I get to meet new people every day and help them come closer to Christ. When I get home I look forward to starting my college education at BYU-I and driving my car again! I love anything with a motor that goes really fast and love getting my hands dirty working on an engine. I really just love being a Mormon!

Why I am a Mormon

So I've been a Mormon my whole life. Up until the age of 18 though, I had just simply gone through the motions of things because truthfully, my mom made me. After I turned 18 and got a job, I decided I didn't want anything to do with the Mormon church and that I could figure out my life on my own. Man, was I wrong. I struggled and drifted through life with no direction whatsoever for about 3 years. It wasn't until a friend reached out and invited me to church that I was able to feel God tell me so clearly, that this was where I needed to be, that this is where true joy was to be found. What I felt was so real that I couldn't deny it. So I started to change my life and bring myself closer to God by living His commandments. For the first time in years I started praying again. Soon after I decided to pray to know for myself if the church, if the Book of Mormon, if Joseph Smith, if it was all true. I needed to know for myself, I couldn't go forward until I knew without a doubt. I know God recognized my desire to come closer to Him and to know for myself because He answered me in a way I would never forget. Since my conversion my life has changed completely. What used to be a dark and scary place is now filled with peace and joy and hope. All of which are accredited to Jesus Christ. This church, this gospel, changed my life. But I had to let it first.

How I live my faith

I live my faith every day by pressing forward. Faith is an action word that requires effort put forth to show God that we just don't say that we know He's there, but that we show Him we know He's there when we're faced with trials and difficulties in our lives. That's exactly what I try to do every day. My life hasn't been the easiest, as I'm sure none of ours ever are, but there has been countless times when I've been faced with new struggles and I've had to give them up because I've realized that I cannot do them on my own and I need Divine assistance, I need God's help. It's when I put my faith in Him and press forward that I am able to have joy, even during the hardest of times.
