Hi I'm Nathaniel Johansen

I was raised in Utah, I'm an ambassador at USU, I'm called to serve in the Uruguay Montevideo mission, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was a member of student government all four years of high school, and that, along with soccer, was my passion. I graduated in 2016 and accepted an offer to be an ambassador for Utah State University when I return from my two-year LDS mission in Uruguay Montevideo.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it brings me joy. It hasn't always been easy, of course there have been hard times mingled with the good times, times of joy, and times of sorrow, but in enduring to the end I have found the gospel to be the true recipe for satisfying joy in this life. The Gospel of Jesus Christ truly is how to live joyfully, and it's fullness is found in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. The full and complete gospel of Jesus Christ, taught correctly and lived appropriately is the key to power and purpose in every day. I am a Mormon because I love Jesus Christ, and I love Jesus Christ because he has given me so much, including the joy, satisfaction, and purpose I feel.

How I live my faith

I attend a missionary preparation class every Sunday morning at 7:30 so that I can be an effective missionary in Uruguay. I go to my church every Sunday and either participate or teach among my fellow members. However, my faith extends far beyond my Sunday worship. I read my scriptures, usually taking my study from The Book Of Mormon, accompanied with the Bible, and other scripture. I'm a huge fan of blessing my food and do it no matter where I am! I love to attend the Temple where I can do service to God, as well as strengthen my own testimony.

What is faith?

Nathaniel Johansen
Faith is obedience and belief despite the many circumstances we may find ourselves in. Often times we are stuck with battling emotions and feelings. Faith is acting and believing consistently, despite our positive or negative feelings and emotions. It is choosing what you believe, when you have no concrete way to prove your belief, and sticking to those beliefs. Faith requires integrity and obedience and is not easy to maintain, especially when life gets hard. But as our faith strengthens, our righteous resolve and belief will guide us through the storms of life. We will not be tossed about and confused when we rely on our faith. Faith is the means by which we endure to the end, and is the key to enjoying the fruits of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Show more Show less
