Hi I'm Asher McMullin

I grew up in Montana, moved to Wisconsin recently, and now I'm in Florida serving a mission. I'm a writer, violist, and Mormon.

About Me

I'm 18 years old and serving a mission in the Florida, Jacksonville area. I love playing Viola - I'm a Viola performance major and completed my first year of undergraduate study before my mission. I love creative writing - I finished my first novel a year ago and plan on editing and then publishing it after I return from my mission. I also love kayaking, playing tennis, and hiking.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the Church. Where I grew up and went to high school, there were almost no church members my age in school with me, only 2 or 3 other Mormon students in a 1200 person High School. It was the same at college, where I was the only LDS student out of 1300 others. It taught me to deeply love the church and gave me a desire to share the gospel. The gospel has blessed my life so much, and there were many situations in high school and college where I could see how much it could bless the lives of others. That's why I'm serving a mission.

How I live my faith

While I was at college at Lawrence University, I spent a lot of time getting to know the new members in our church. I loved meeting and getting to be friends with anybody who was new to church and watching them grow into amazing people. I was also the music conductor there, and sometimes conduct in my home church building. Sometimes they make me play piano, but that doesn't go so well...
