Hi I'm Emily Stewart

I love to travel. I play the cello. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Los Angeles, California and no matter what, I'll always be Californian at heart! I'm the youngest of the five crazy kids in my family. In middle school I decided to be homeschooled, and was homeschooled through high school. During high school I volunteered and worked at several different hospitals. Music was also a huge part of my life - I played the piano and cello, and taught piano on the side. After I graduated high school, I attended Brigham Young University (Provo, Utah) for over a year, during which time I had the awesome opportunity to study abroad in London, England and other various places. I am now preparing to serve my mission in Puebla, Mexico!

Why I am a Mormon

Technically you could say that I'm a Mormon because I grew up in the church. I was raised in it. That may be "why" I'm a Mormon initially, but it definitely is not the reason why I still am today! I'm a Mormon because as I've grown up, I have truly felt that this is the true church. I believe it with my whole heart, and I can also see how living and applying the gospel in our lives makes for such a better, happier, more successful life!

How I live my faith

I think the primary way that I live my faith is through service. I absolutely love people! And I believe that you can serve in countless ways - through the church (by going on missions, accepting and fulfilling callings to do different things such as teaching youth, etc.) but I also believe that just as valuable is the service you render towards others in daily life! I had many wonderful opportunities to serve both in high school and at college in different ways, whether that be by volunteering at hospitals, playing the cello for someone who could use a smile, or giving a homeless man a sweatshirt! The feeling is wonderful, and your contribution is valuable to the world!
