Hi I'm Jordan

I grew up in Mankato, MN. I went to Southern Utah University for 1 year of college. Heading out on a LDS mission in August.

About Me

I have played piano for 10 years and still do now. I went to college for a year. Now preparing for a LDS mission in August. I love reading books, listening to music, running, swimming, and be with family/friends. I was diagnosed with Idiopathic Scoliosis when I was in Jr. High School and then had surgery the winter of my sophomore year of High School.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the LDS church. I was able to develop my testimony through my family and friends in the church. I mostly relied on the testimony of my parents for most of my youth, but when I entered into High School I had to develop my own testimony. I learned that in order for me to know if the LDS church is true I had to take a leap of faith and find out answers for myself. Little by little I began to gain more knowledge and understanding of the LDS church. I was able to build a testimony of God our Heavenly Father and his Son, Jesus Christ. Then to know that Jesus is my Savior and Redeemer. His Atonement is always open to all. Latter-Day prophets live on this earth today and I know Thomas S. Monson is our prophet. I know that Joseph Smith restored the true church here on this earth through Heavenly Father's help and that he translated the Book of Mormon for our time. I know the Book of Mormon to be true. And for the most important of all to know that our families can be together forever even beyond the grave.

How I live my faith

When I am in the church I usually try my best to help serve others. Especially when I go out for visiting teaching for sisters in our ward. When I go out visiting teaching I am able to learn more about the amazing women I'm serving. I am currently serving as the Chorister for our music program in our woman's group in our ward. I select the hymns for our lessons and lead the music for everyone to sing along to. I also try to be a good example to the younger members of our ward and for my friends who are not of my faith.

What blessings can you receive from reading the Book of Mormon, the Bible, and other scriptures?

As you study the scriptures, you will be able to feel the spirit more in your life. You'll be able to feel peace, joy, and happiness from "feasting" upon the Lord, Jesus Christ's words and they will tell you what you should do (The Book of Mormon, 2 Nephi 32:3). The scriptures testify of our Lord, Jesus Christ and his gospel (Bible John 5:39). All scriptures both the Bible and the Book of Mormon share the same message that there is a God and more to life even beyond this life (Bible Ezekiel 37:16-17). The scriptures give us faith and hope for better things in life (See Book of Mormon Moroni 7:40-43). As you study, ponder, and live the scriptures in your life the Holy Ghost will testify to you the "truth of all things" (Book of Mormon, Moroni 10:4-5). Once you know the truth you will develop a desire to become more like our Lord, Jesus Christ and follow him. Show more Show less
