Hi I'm Amanda

I am currently attending BYU-Idaho as a Chemistry Education Major, from the beautiful Aurora, CO. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a student, and that currently takes a majority of my time. I am attending BYU-Idaho and absolutely loving it. Idaho has a lot more recreation that I originally thought, and I love the outdoors. I am a Chemistry Education major, and I love the periodic table. One day, in the near future, I hope to teach chemistry at the collegiate level, and inspire students to try their best in every aspect of their life. I am so excited to be a teacher, and I love to interact with other youth. I also have a passion for music and I love to play the piano in our weekly sacrament meetings. The passion that I have for music comes from my family, as all of the girls in our home play the piano. Some of my greatest childhood memories are when we would all gather around the piano and sing together, and I hope to pass the same love for music, and possibly chemistry, on to my children.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because my life is peaceful when I live the principles of the gospel. I chose to be baptized as an eight year old girl because I felt a touch of the spirit, but I have stayed a member as I continued to feel this peace throughout my life. I am a Mormon because I know that there is a Savior who loves us, and I can feel his love as I pray each day. I know that he is there and he wants us to strive to be like him.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving as the President of a group of girls in a student ward on campus. It is one of the most difficult callings I have ever had, but the most rewarding as I get to see testimonies grow. I adore my calling, and serving others has added so much substance to my own testimony. I know that as we serve others we have an inner peace that comes from no other source and we grow more than we realize. I also strive to live my faith by being an example of someone who is trying to be a disciple of Jesus Christ. He is the ultimate example, and in everything I do, I try and base my actions off of what he would do. I strive to be kind to others, and love with an unconditional love like he did. This is the reason why we are here on earth, and everyday is another chance to be a little bit better.
