Hi I'm Stephen

I was born and raised in Utah. I am an actor, singer, and a ballet dancer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have lots of hobbies. I love stage performance, being in the great outdoors, and engineering, and someday I hope to become a pilot and fly airplanes. I love to look for the fun in everything. I embrace any opportunity to challenge myself, whether in school or other pursuits, such as dance. I started ballet in first grade, and have been dancing in the studio and on the stage ever since. A few years ago, my focus in the arts shifted from dance only to other forms of performance, including choirs and Broadway-style musicals. Between shows, I love meeting new people, getting together with friends and family, and having a great time with everyone I come in contact with.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have come to know that this church and all of its teachings are true through prayerful study of the Book of Mormon. I made the choice to be baptized into the church when I was eight years old, and I have felt extremely blessed ever since. I have gained a testimony through fervent prayer that everything written in that book is true, and because it is true, I know with a surety that the fulness of the everlasting Gospel of Jesus Christ is present on the Earth today, and that God truly does speak to His children throughout the world, through His living prophets and through the scriptures. It never ceases to amaze me how much God loves each and every one of his children, in other words, everyone who has ever lived on this earth. There has never been a time that I could not turn to the scriptures or kneel down and offer up a prayer to the Lord when I experience challenges in my life. He has shown me his love through tender mercies on too many occasions to count. I love the church, and I know it is true, and I gained that witness by first reading the Book of Mormon, and then praying to know whether or not it was true. I can testify that God truly does answer prayers. If you have not read the Book of Mormon, I would exhort you to do so. Its contents have blessed my life in so many ways and I know they will bless your life too!

How I live my faith

Although much of my time is spent perfecting and performing, my first priority will always be learning and living the teachings of Jesus Christ in my everyday life. One of my favorite ways to do that is by serving others. In the Book of Mormon, we read that when we serve those around us, we are really serving God (Mosiah 2:17). Whether I am at home, at church, or school, I do my best to look for ways I can help better the lives of others. I am the happiest when I am giving up my time to serve. Currently, I am serving a full-time mission for the church in Dnepropetrovsk, Ukraine.

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

The Mormon Missionaries are called of God to preach His restored Gospel to the whole world. They dedicate 18 months to two years of their life to full-time volunteer service. When they visit your home, they will share a message about the redeeming sacrifice of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ when He atoned for the sins of the world, our relationship with our Father in Heaven, and our eternal destiny in the plan He has created for us that allows us to someday return to live with Him after this mortal life. They will also give you a copy of the Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ, a book of ancient scripture comparable to the Bible, which contains many of the plain and simple truths that constitute the doctrine of the Mormon church.
