Hi I'm Emily

I was born and raised in Southern California. I'm half English. I'm a dancer. I'm a missionary. I hate milk. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I come from a family of 8. There's my mom and dad, my older brother, my sister, me, and then 3 younger brothers. I grew up in a small home, and we all ran around acting crazy. I danced for 16 years with the hopes of dancing in a professional ballet company since I was 11. After dancing at a professional ballet school for a year, I quit due to not seeing a future with it anymore and having other hopes and dreams. I am now a missionary serving in the Alpine German-speaking mission. After my mission I hope to pursue a career in Latin and Ballroom dancing.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I love God, I love Jesus, and I love the Atonement. I know that God has a plan for each one of us, and I've seen his hand in my life. I've experienced trials in my life, with friends and insecurities, and my recent experiences in Texas. I trained for ballet at a professional company for a few months before I got injured and had to have surgery. While I was home having surgery I missed ballet terribly. I felt like in a way I had lost myself, but I had grown closer with God. After my surgery, I went back to train in Texas and found that I wasn't healing as fast as I had originally thought I would, and it took me longer to get my strength back. This in turn made my teachers over-look me and made me realize new dreams of mine. I had remembered how much I want a family in a few years and how nearly impossible it is to have one in that life style, and I fell out of love with ballet. Now I love it again, but in a more enjoyable, not career-wise or stressfull way. If ballet had worked out I would not be on a mission, I would not be as happy as I am now. So through this experience, I really have a testimony of God's love and the plan of salvation. And how the Atonement isn't just for cleansing of sins, but for all pain and suffering. The atonement will heal broken hearts.

How I live my faith

I'm a missionary. At home I was a ward missionary, I helped out the missionaries. Before this I was a break-the-fast coordinator (after fast Sunday's some young wards like to have a potluck style get together when they stop fasting for the day, it's a great way to meet new people in the church) in a Young Single Adult ward. Before that I served in class presidencies as a youth.
