Hi I'm Zachary Sharp Mickelson

I grew up in California. I programmed an Artificial Intelligence powered Foosball table. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a 21 year old excitedly preparing to serve as a missionary in Tokyo, Japan! I grew up in California and fell in love with music at a young age. in the 4th grade I started playing the trumpet and have been playing it ever since. I have sung in many choirs including the BYU Men's chorus. I am going to school at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. I am studying Computer Engineering and would love to get involved in the Video Game industry after I graduate. My favorite hobbies are: solving Rubik's cubes, making origami, programming, and gaming.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints for all my life. Growing up, you don't really question your religion, you just accept it as what you do on Sundays and that's it. As a child, I enjoyed church and recognized that it felt different from the rest of the week, but that was about as far as my understanding went. In high school I started to desire to know why I believed in what I did. Up until that point I had been relying on my parents testimonies to support my own. After a lot of soul searching, scripture reading, praying, and a couple of spiritual experiences later, I know for a fact that I am following Jesus Christ by being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints. I know that the fullness of the gospel brought to the earth by Jesus has been restored to the earth and thrives today within this church. I am incredibly excited to share this wonderful knowledge throughout my life and on my mission!

How I live my faith

I grew up a Mormon, and thus living my faith has always come natural. Because of this though, I never pushed myself very hard to work harder on being who I should be. As I prepare to serve a mission, how to better live my faith is constantly on my mind. I frequent a couple of online groups. Whenever I get a chance to I share the gospel with those I meet. I read my scriptures whenever I get the chance and pray to feel the spirit everywhere I go!
