Hi I'm Linette

I grew up in Compton, California. My third kidney transplant was done in Los Angeles, CA. I am a Mormon and I am truly blessed.

About Me

I currently live in Riverside and live with 2 out of 4 of my adult children. I have had three kidney transplants and the last one was in Oct. 2014. I have an Associate of Science Degree in Business Information Systems and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Operation Management. I retired from US Airways Airlines after 18 years. I am so grateful for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. My baptism and confirmation was on June 11, 2016; a day I will always remember. I know for sure that the gospel is true and Jesus Christ is my savior. I am truly blessed as I seek his direction and guidance.

Why I am a Mormon

It just feels right. I know the gospel is true and Jesus Christ is my savior. I have been searching for an answer to my prayers to get closer to the Lord. One day I was looking on the internet for an answer and came across mormon.org. So I requested a bible not knowing that the missionaries would hand deliver the bible to me. I am so grateful for the teaching of the missionaries and the gospel of Jesus Christ. The sisters invited me to come to church and I knew I was finally home.

How I live my faith

The best way I believe I live my faith in Jesus Christ is through prayer and studying the scriptures. To have a humble heart and to live and obey God's commandments. To become Christlike and to glorify his name in all that I do. To show patience, charity, love for one another. I have had many trials in my life and Jesus has always been by my side. I am thankful for the Holy Ghost who is my constant companion. I am a new member to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and I am grateful to serve in anyway I can.

What do Mormons believe about the Holy Ghost? Who is the Holy Ghost?

The Holy Ghost also called the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of God, and the Comforter. He witnesses, or testifies, of Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and reveals and teaches the truth. Without the Holy Ghost, we could not know that Jesus is the Christ. The Apostle Paul wrote, "no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost" (1 Corinthians 12:3. It is by the power of the Holy Ghost that we are led to understand and live the gospel of Jesus Christ. President Smith also said, "Through the Holy Ghost the truth is woven into the very fibre and sinews of the body so that it cannot be forgotten. Show more Show less

What is done with the tithing that Mormons pay?

Tithing is the Lord's law of finance for His Church. Tithing donations are always used for the Lord's purposes, which He reveals through a council of His servants. Some of these uses are:: * Building and maintaining temples, chapels, and other Church buildings. * Supporting the activities and operations of local Church congregations. * Supporting the programs of the Church, including education and family history research. Tithes are paid privately, and information about donations is kept strictly confidential. Show more Show less
