Hi I'm Ty

I am a caretaker and musician. I love ice cream and baking pies. I'm the oldest of seven, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I started playing piano when I was nine or so, and I have loved music ever since. I now play lots of different instruments; my favorite being the ukulele. I love playing for the elderly people I work with, and I really enjoy serving the people around me. Being in a big family provides lots of opportunities to do service, but it also proves to be pretty challenging at times. I am grateful that I will be able to serve families across the world as a missionary in the Brazil Santos mission for two years. After my mission I plan on going to BYU to study mechanical engineering, because I am fascinated by physics and how things work. I'm not a big fan of doing work around the house, however, though I am an expert at cleaning blinds and washing dishes. I love the gospel deeply, and I love going to the temple to do ordinances. My goal is to one day be married for time and all eternity there and start my own family.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon ultimately because it brings me true joy. The world we live in is very tumultuous and uncertain, and I feel such peace and comfort because I have the gospel of Jesus Christ. I don't fear the challenges of life because I trust that God will provide a way for me to overcome any trial He allows me to go through. Because of this gospel I know where I came from and where I am going, which gives me a strong sense of identity and of who I can become. I am able to show pure, genuine love to others because of the example of the Savior Jesus Christ, which brings a lot of peace in a world that doesn't really know what true love is. I feel so much comfort in knowing that I have a Father in Heaven who loves me and watches over me, and that Jesus Christ suffered for my sins and died for me so that I can overcome my sins and progress in this life and the life to come. I love the knowledge I have that I can be with my family forever. I am able to see God's hand in my life through His prophet Thomas S. Monson, who provides God's word and will for us today. I have seen so many miracles in my life because I have offered my heart and spirit to the gospel of Jesus Christ and because I am a part of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. There is no way that I could deny the miraculous healings of body and spirit through the priesthood authority from God that I have seen with my own eyes and felt with my own heart. I love the direction and guidance I have, and the opportunity I have to become someone better every day, until I eventually become like my loving Heavenly Father. I feel His love every day, and I am constantly inspired to share that love with others. Nothing else in this world can bring me more fulfillment and joy, because I know that what I am doing is good and that it truly benefits the world around me. My service is not in vain, and my efforts to be good blesses others as well as myself because of God's infinite plan of happiness.

How I live my faith

I get to play the organ at church, which is really awesome. Hearing people sing the sacred hymns is really uplifting, and it really does bring me closer to Christ as it invites the Holy Ghost into the meetings. I also help people find their ancestors so that they can do proxy ordinances for them in the temple. I've gotten to teach many family history classes and had many great experiences while visiting with families about their relatives. One of my favorite things to do is go home teaching to a few of the families in the
