Hi I'm Chance Canty

I'm soon to be a missionary in Alabama, I raise show lambs and live on a ranch, and Yes, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I begin serving my mission in Birmingham, Alabama in July 2016. I am the third of four kids. I have three sisters and no brothers. Other than being directly involved in the church, I love sports like basketball, volleyball, track, football, and pretty much anything that keeps me physically active. I also love 4H and FFA where I operate a diversified livestock production operation. I enjoy spending time with my family doing various activities that we all enjoy. I am extremely grateful to have my family and to have the gospel directing my life. Growing up with siblings has brought and continues to bring joy and excitement to my life. One of the greatest promises God has given us is to have an eternal family that we can live with forever.

Why I am a Mormon

Being raised in the Gospel because my family have been members forever, I have come to know these things: The Lord lives and loves each of His children. We are able to overcome adversity through prayer. We can be forgiven through the atonement of Jesus Christ who sent His son to die for us. I know Jesus Christ is my Savior. I know the gospel was restored through Joseph Smith through the revelation from Jesus Christ. I know the Book of Mormon is true and is the word of God. I have learned that through obeying the Lord's commandments, we will live a life avoiding much adversity. The Lord assists us in everything we do and wants nothing but the best for each of His children. The knowledge and enlightenment we can obtain concerning life, death, the purpose of a family, and how to strengthen our relationship with God can only be done through our constant efforts reading, pondering, and praying about the scriptures. Learning, living, and loving the gospel is a tremendous blessing that will bring each of us closer to Jesus Christ that cannot be found anywhere else.

How I live my faith

I am just beginning to receive blessings for my decision to serve a mission and it is an honor to wear Christ's name on my chest. My goal as a missionary is to share the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ and to assist others in growing more spiritually closer to our Heavenly Father. I want everyone I associate with to feel the joy and excitement I do through living the Gospel principles. Our relationship with God is greatly strengthened through studying and applying the scriptures into our lives. Daily prayer brings immense blessings into our lives. The feelings of love, unity, peace, and joy I feel in my life and in my family are available to all of God's children through the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. Serving as a leader to the younger men in my community, I am guided by the Lord and his example he has set for all of us. If we put the Lord first, everything else will fall into place.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Chance Canty
No, we serve everyone. The example of Jesus Christ demonstrates great service to everyone he associates with. We strive to serve others whenever, wherever, and however possible. This means we search for opportunities to serve others without being asked. Show more Show less
