Hi I'm Kristina Griffiths

Born and raised in sunny California. Serving the beautiful people of Guatemala. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Life is oh so good. I have five brothers and a sister. I enjoy music of every kind, dance, and having fun. I enjoyed leadership in high school and participating in several different events because of it. I went to a year of college in preparation for getting into a dental hygiene program. A year on my own taught me a lot about life, myself, and my Savior. I decided to put my family and friends and career goals aside so I could serve the people of Guatemala. It has been the best and hardest decision I have ever made.

Why I am a Mormon

Simply stated: because the teachings of the gospel make me happy. They define who I am and I know my purpose. In a world where it seems there is so much confusion and hardship, I find peace through the Savior and His Atonement. I know I have been blessed in so many ways, but that doesn't mean that I have somehow avoided temptation, trials, hardships, etc. The only difference is that I find a hope to endure and receive the strength to continue on. I know that God lives. I know that He is very aware of us and what we go through; He knows our fears, our desires, our goals. He wants to bless us. He wants to see us succeed. We simply have to love Him and follow His commandments. He has given us prophets of ancient times and hasn't let us alone today. Through Joseph Smith, the Lord restored His teachings and authority on earth. I know that today we still continue to have a prophet (Thomas S. Monson) who has the authority to guide and warn us. I know that the Book of Mormon is another testament of Christ. I have read it several times and know without a shadow of a doubt that it is true. Reading it daily strengthens and protects me...and most of all just makes me happy. I don't even want to imagine where I would be without the gospel of Jesus Christ. I have been extremely blessed and will do all I can to be an example to those around me. I just wish everyone could know how loved they are and how much they mean to their Father in heaven.

How I live my faith

I have had so many eye-opening opportunities through the church to serve those around me. Growing up, I was able to serve my church and school peers through leadership. It taught me to understand hard situations and love every human being simply because they are valued children of God. During my first year of college, I served as a supervisor of visiting teaching. My awareness of other people's needs grew so much and allowed me to forget myself and help others, even if that meant to lend an ear and listen to what people's worries about life were.
