Hi I'm Rachel

I'm a university student who loves spending time outdoors! I'm currently serving a mission in Orlando, Florida and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in Utah and come from a family of five. I am the middle child of the family, with two sisters- one older and one younger than me. I have always loved swimming and was on a competitive swim team from the age of 10 until I graduated from high school. I also enjoy spending time outside and doing activities such as biking, boating, and hiking. Although I love the outdoors I also enjoy staying inside and reading or spending time with my friends and family. I just finished my freshman year of college and I enjoyed it, although I am still determining a major. I am now currently serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the Orlando, Florida mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in this church- but I did have to find out for myself if it was the true church that would lead me to Christ. I always went to church with my family, but around the age of 12, I decided I really wanted to know, for myself, if this was the true church. I then chose to read the Book of Mormon on my own and follow the counsel at the end to ask God if the book was true. As I prayed to know if the Book of Mormon was true, I felt a peaceful, happiness come over me, letting me know the Book of Mormon was true. I have acted on that feeling ever since- and continue to feel the truthfulness of this gospel. Now, I have learned to trust God and his plan for me and love this gospel with all of my heart.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by incorporating it into each part of my life. I have helped participate in planning and organizing youth activities through the church; as well as serving in leadership positions to help the youth in my ward learn more about Jesus Christ and His plan for us. I have also been on a committee to help the girls my age with anything they needed, from a batch of brownies to help their day go a little better, to helping clean their apartments before our monthly cleaning check. In each of these positions I was better able to learn more about the Savior and how He would interact with others and how He served the people around Him.
