Hi I'm Margaret

I live in Montana. I love to hike. I am a Mormon.

About Me

Hi, I'm Margaret. I love to bake. I love reading and writing. I enjoy dancing and singing. I have four brothers and two sisters. We like to spend time with each other whenever possible. We like playing board games and being outside. I was born in Utah but spent most of my childhood in Iowa. In sixth grade my family moved back to Utah where we lived for five years before moving to Montana.

Why I am a Mormon

I was lucky enough to be born into a family active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, often called the Mormon church. In my family our parents encouraged us to find out for ourselves if the church is true. I first read The Book of Mormon when I was eight years old. I prayed to know if it was true and felt the Spirit testify that it is, so I got baptized. As time went on I learned more and more about the gospel and when I was sixteen I decided that I wasn't satisfied just knowing that The Book of Mormon is true, I wanted to know that all of it was true. I had studied The Book of Mormon and the Bible in church and personally. One day I knelt in my room and prayed to know if the church is true. I prayed about Joseph Smith, the Restoration of the Gospel, and about our modern-day Prophets and apostles. The whole room filled with warmth and a sense of love greater than I had ever felt before. I knew and I still do know that it was the witness of the Holy Ghost bearing witness to me that the church is true.

How I live my faith

I have had callings in my church from the time I was twelve years old, and even before that I sang in the choir with my mother. In fulfilling my callings I have helped organize activities for my peers, lead music, and even taught lessons in church. Away from church I try to live my faith through example and service. I have volunteered at my public library's summer reading program for five years even though we have only lived here for about two and a half years. I would volunteer when we came up to Montana for vacation. I also like to volunteer at our community's bargain basement. It is a thrift store in the basement of the Catholic church.
