Hi I'm Ethan

I was raised in Salt Lake City, Utah. I lived in Russia for five months teaching young kids English. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the oldest child in my family. with two sisters and a brother under me to keep life interesting. I am a lover of the outdoors. particularly hiking. I've lived in Russia for five months teaching young kids English. Even though I love traveling to different countries, I am very patriotic towards the United-States. I believe that the Constitution of The United-States is an inspired document and should be respected. My family is a "Homeschool-Family". I graduated from a Charter High School near me. My family as a part of being homeschooled, are in charge, or a part of many different events and classes. I love great literature, but i wouldn't call myself a book worm. I love learning new skills. I've found that I'm quite good at just picking something up and doing it. My family and many of my friends sometimes show a little bit of jealousy at this though. I have many many hobbies and skills. The greatest of which are: Playing musical instruments (almost anything that has strings), Gardening, whip making and cracking, sprinkler system instillation and repair, graphic arts design, auto mechanics, any thing to do with space and all of the world wide space programs, live sound managing mainly for plays, and making my friends and family laugh. I'm proud to be called "son" by my parents. and to be called "brother" by my siblings. My life would be a dull one if not for them. and I'm proud to be and Eagle Scout.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born to two wonderful parents who were already strong in my faith. For my entire life I have been attending church and a part of this gospel. I've always believed the things I was taught were true, but I never really understood and loved all of the principals and doctrines that are contained within this church. I knew that if I wanted to be happy with where I was that I need to have my own personal conversion. I needed to find out for my self if this was what I wanted. I spent some time living in Moscow, Russia teaching English. It suddenly became much more difficult to attend church then. Since the nearest ward met about and hour and a half away by train, as opposed to the five minutes walk back home. I made a decision to attend church each week like I did back home and like I knew I should. And I did. I never missed a meeting. Because of the ordeal of trying to go to church, I began to really try and understand the things that were taught. As I did this, my testimony and conviction grew. More stubbing blocks were placed in my way. But my knowledge and love for my Savior Jesus Christ is enough that I could never abandon or deny the him. No matter of tribulation could drive a wedge between Him and I. I am a Mormon because I know that this gospel is true. Truth in our day is becoming more and more scarce. That's why it's so important to hold fast to the truth we have. I am a Mormon because I love to serve my Heavenly Father. I am about to serve a mission for Him. Many people may call me crazy for it, but I don't care. I am doing the Lord's work. And that's what matters. "Yea, and from that time even until now, I have labored without ceasing, that I might bring souls unto repentance; that I might bring them to taste of the exceeding joy of which I did taste; that they might also be born of God, and be filled with the Holey Ghost." -Alma 36:24

How I live my faith

Currently I am preparing to serve an LDS Mission to Russia. It has been hard trying to get ready. However It has been even harder trying to avoid Satan and all that he places on my path. Luckily I have a strong ward and family that have prepared me for this time. but most of all, my testimony that the things God has commanded me to do is strong that Satan's temptations. I consider myself a "worldly man". I often find myself looking after things that really don't much actual worth. I try my best every day to make myself God's and not the world's. I would gladly give everything I had to the service of my God. I boldly stand to testify that Jesus Christ is in all actuality our Savior. without him, there is nothing.
