Hi I'm Jacob

I love playing the trumpet. I enjoy acting and being on stage. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I played the trumpet in my high school's concert band, jazz band, and marching band for all four years. I also played the trumpet in the pit orchestra for one of our school's musicals and the next year I was on stage for our production of "The Music Man" singing high tenor in a quartet. I also sang in our school's show choir for two years. My first three years in high school I was a part of our Ultimate Frisbee club and made it to the state semi-finals one of those three years. I will soon be in California for my mission.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was younger I was a Mormon only because I was born into the faith. I sometimes didn't want to go to Church on Sundays, but I usually went anyway. As I have grown, however, I have found that when I listen to the speakers in Church and when I read the scriptures when I'm at home I can feel the spirit telling me that this Church is true. I do still have hard times when I doubt, but that's because I'm not perfect. I hope to someday know of a surety that the Church is true. But until then is is my conviction to stay in the faith and keep on looking to feel the spirit.

How I live my faith

In my ward we have many older people who get sick sometimes. Whenever this happens a few of our older young men have the opportunity to go and bless the sacrament for them to eat. I have been able to do this many times and I have seen how much they appreciate being able to partake of the bread and water in their homes.

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

A testimony is a brief statement of what an individual believes in our religion that they can share with others to help them gain a testimony of their own. Show more Show less
