Hi I'm Austen

I love music. I'm super tall. I play a gigantic clarinet. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm currently serving a full-time mission in the blessed land of England. I plan to return to Brigham Young University in a year and a bit and continue studying something or other. I love marching band and play clarinet in the BYU marching band. I also got to play Contrabass Clarinet in the BYU symphonic band. I hope to someday live in another state, like Texas or one of those Eastern ones.

Why I am a Mormon

There comes a time in every young persons life where they need to evaluate the values that they've grown up in. When it came time to think about the church and if I should continue being a part of it, I decided to study and learn about the church and think about life. I came to the conclusion, and later had some spiritual experiences that convinced me of the truth of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

How I live my faith

Just generally be pretty cool to people. As a missionary I get to serve the Lord full time. I love being able to smile at people on the street and just generally brighten their day. Sometimes little acts of service or kindness really help people.

What is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' attitude regarding homosexuality and same sex marriage?

We love and respect homosexuals as we would any other human being. There is no excuse for hate or intolerance for people that live different ways. With that being said, the most happiness can be found by raising a family and in heterosexual marriage. Show more Show less

Why do some call Mormonism a cult?

Probably the reason behind this is that people haven't looked into or gone to a church service. Speculation and rumors are never a valid source of information. Show more Show less

Why is it important for us to take care of our bodies? Why are our bodies called temples of God in the Bible?

Jesus Christ came back and redeemed his body, if that doesn't show the importance of a physical body, I don't know what does. Our body is also a gift from God, and we should respect it as we respect all of God's creations. Show more Show less

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

We think Joseph Smith was awesome for what he did but we worship our Father in Heaven and his Son Jesus Christ. Show more Show less

Why are Mormons asked to donate 10% of their income to their Church?

Because God has given us a commandment to pay tithing! We have an awesome opportunity to give up 10% of our money for the best possible reason. Show more Show less
