Hi I'm Arline

I I am a wife, mother of two, and a 6th grade teacher! I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I am most importantly a mother of two amazing children! I love my role as a mother, but I also love being a teacher! I have now taught for 25 years, and have had the opportunity to teach and interact with thousands of children. My favorite place is the world is the beach. I love to sit on the beach, listening to the waves roll in as I read a good book. My favorite thing to do is spend time with my family. My family loves the beach, camping, Disneyland, playing board games, eating, and going to the movies. I love music and I can play the piano, organ, and violin. If I am not busy grading papers, you might find me at the gym or at my Zumba class.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a home that had parents that taught me the gospel. My mom had been a member all her life, but my father was a convert from the Catholic church. I always loved going to church. I loved learning about the gospel and about my Savior, Jesus Christ. There was never any huge moment where I can say that I was converted to the gospel. As I have lived the gospel and obeyed the commandments, my testimony has grown. As I have listened to modern day prophets testify of Christ, my testimony has grown. As I have read the Book of Mormon and the Bible repeatedly through my life, my testimony has grown. As I have had the the opportunity to use the atonement in my life, my testimony has grown. I know that when I am serving others, my testimony has grown. Most recently, as I have watched my two children grow as they have served as full time missionaries, my testimony has grown leaps and bounds. I am a Mormon because this is His church!

How I live my faith

I live my faith in many ways. First of all, I pray and read the scriptures. Once a month I fast for two meals and donate that money to help the needy. I live my faith by going to the temple with my husband and children. In my ward (church congregation), I have served in many capacities over the years. I have spent most of my time serving the children and youth of the congregations I have attended. I am currently teach the 9 year olds every Sunday. My husband and I also serve the young adults in our area. I have had the opportunity to use my musical talents at church. I have played the piano and organ for years. I currently play the piano for the choir. I have also had several opportunities to play violin in several productions of the Messiah. I have also had leadership opportunities throughout the years as well. Since I was 18, I have had the opportunity to also be a visiting teacher. Visiting teachers watch out over several sisters in the ward. We visit at least once a month and make sure the women know that they are loved and there is someone looking out for them. I think the most important way I live my faith is teaching the gospel to my children. Even though my children are now adults, I still find opportunities to share my testimony with them ,and continue to teach them about how they can be better people, and grow closer to our Savior.
