Hi I'm Alayna

I was born in Alaska. I love skiing and ice cream. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently a third-year university student studying human resources. I have a passion for people and love to spend time with my family and friends. When not studying or hanging out, I enjoy hiking, skiing, spending time outdoors, reading or cooking. I am a daughter and a sister, and have five siblings who are spread out across the country but make for fun visits! I like animals and have an overweight cat who spends more of her day sleeping than I can.

Why I am a Mormon

A lot of why I started out in the LDS church was because my parents raised me this way. However, as I started to grow up and ask my own questions, it became time for me to choose my own path. The gospel of Jesus Christ and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has always led my path towards good and righteousness goals. Not only has the gospel been a smart choice in that our leaders encourage education, asking questions and seeking answers, developing talents and attributes of the Savior, but the gospel and Church have also filled a part of me that I didn't realize needed filling. When life gets crazy and I just want to quit, I know that my Savior loves me, and He knows that I can do great things. I know He can do great things, and as I put my trust in Him, we can do great things together. The peace that comes from living the principles of the gospel has brought me an amazing sense of safety in spite of world events and tragedies. The doctrines that the Church teaches are truths of an eternal nature.

How I live my faith

In the church, there are a lot of ways to be involved. I've had a number of callings, or responsibilities that allow me to participate and develop different talents. Some that I've enjoyed most have been organizing and planning activities for the members my age, working with committees to bring together service events to help the local community and participating in family history work by working on indexing old records.
