Hi I'm Isaac

I grew up in Idaho Falls. I enjoy everything musical. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I love music and singing! I have acted in musicals and sung in choirs all my life. I play piano and a variety of other instruments. I've earned the 1st place award in the Idaho State Soloist competition for 1st Tenor. Besides music, I also enjoy weight-lifting, knitting, and watching Disney movies! I plan on going to school for Bio-engineering after serving a full-time mission. I love my family! I also love to cook, but I only really like to make desserts! (Which explains my physique)

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because in my darkest days, I have always had the Savior to guide me. A major factor in my conversion came from when I received a healing priesthood blessing when I had a major illness. I had an infection that should have lasted for several weeks, but because of the blessing, it lasted only a day before I was able to function again. Besides that, I receive such a powerful witness from the spirit while I read the Book of Mormon, that I know of its truth. I love what peace the gospel offers my family, and I love seeing the peace and happiness that it grants to people who find it. Another incredible thing about being a Mormon, is having a living prophet that receives revelation from God for our day. I know that by following the commandments of God, reading the Book of Mormon, and by following the revelation received by the prophet, that I will be happy in this life, and unimaginably happy in the world to come!

How I live my faith

I participate in a ton of service projects for the community. I've worked on welfare farms and helped to clear a camp for youth who want to go on recreated pioneer treks. I earned my Eagle Scout award. I've also taught music class for second graders. I also live my faith by faithfully attending church, and inviting others to come to Christ! I love all other people no matter what, and try to reflect the Savior in all that I do in say. I've always tried to be a person that anyone can come talk to at any time, and I will always listen.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

I spend every day looking for anyone to help! I love serving others, and the blessings it can bring to both parties. As a member of the church, I look for every opportunity to help anyone with anything. I believe that anyone, regardless of religion, is entitled to feel loved and valued, and I know that those feelings happen when we serve each other. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe about the Bible? Do they regard it as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

We believe that God is the same "Yesterday, and to day, and for ever." - Hebrews 13. Most of the time, we use this scripture to prove why God continues to call apostles and prophets, as well as why he continues to give us scripture and revelation. In this case, we can focus on the fact that God is the same yesterday. The apostles Jesus Christ called on Earth - as well as the many prophets of the Old Testament - are just as legitimate as the apostles and prophets are now. This is why we treasure the words of the Holy Bible as much as the Book of Mormon. It might seem funny to say, but along with The Book of Mormon, I love reading the Old Testament. The Old Testament is "fun" reading for me, and really helps me to appreciate the similarities in the primitive church, and the current church! One of our articles of faith states, "We believe the Bible to be the word of God as far as it is translated correctly; we also believe the Book of Mormon to be the word of God." The Bible and the Book of Mormon work together in an inspired pattern to prove that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and the Redeemer of the World. Show more Show less
