Hi I'm Benjamin Foutz

I grew up in Mapleton Utah. Graduated High School. Now I'm leaving on a LDS Mission. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in 1997. Six months beforehand my parents moved into their newly built house in Utah, and that is where I have lived my entire life. I am the fourth of five children who had an enjoyable childhood with my faithful LDS family. In consequence of living on two acres, there has always been enough work to go around. We have a garden, orchard, pasture for cows or horses, and plenty of flower beds in need of weeding. I was taught at a young age the value of work and how to work hard. Although quiet, I have always been competitive and in seventh grade I began playing football and participating in track and field. These activities provided a great outlet and motivated me to stay physically fit. I have played each sport every year since. This competitiveness also transferred over to my academics and I enjoy striving to succeed at school. I love Lord of the Rings and Star Wars, and I play a lot of risk. I always enjoy reading and eating.

Why I am a Mormon

Having been raised in the church I've always had plenty of exposure to the church and how it works. This early and constant exposure has been good but it allowed me to put off gaining a strong testimony. So the past few years I've been working to gain a testimony of the gospel for myself. I do have a testimony that this is God's church here on earth and that Joseph Smith was a key part of it's restoration. Joseph Smith was a prophet of God and through God's power translated the Book of Mormon. The Atonement is real and I have seen it work in my life and the lives of others. Thomas S. Monson in a true prophet and receives revelation from God to direct His Church. I am excited to serve the Lord in Minnesota for the next two years.

How I live my faith

There is one goal that I have always been set on completing, and that has been to serve a LDS mission. My parents have both served, and all three of my older brothers have as well. It has been something I’ve been working towards my whole life. After an honorable mission, it is my goal to get married in an LDS temple and raise a family. I also have also been set on attending a university. My experience in high school has reinforced that desire for more learning; however, I have yet to find out exactly what I want to study in college. Another one of my goals for the future is to find a balance between my career, family, and church service. As I establish myself in my career I want to make sure I am caring for my family and serving well in the church as well. I want to have a great relationship with my future family and be happy.
