Hi I'm Ben

I grew up in Idaho, I love fishing, hunting and the outdoors. I enjoy football, basketball, soccer, and frisbee. I’m a Mormon!

About Me

I played basketball, football, and ran track in High School. I like playing frisbee and sometimes would play it even in the halls. I am an avid fisherman and love to fish in any water, tiny streams, lakes, and the ocean. While I get a thrill out of catching huge halibut in Alaska, I also enjoy the challenge of pursuing a tiny brook trout in a 5 inch stream. I love hiking in the wild areas. I live in are with mountains I can get to in 5 minutes and streams I can fish in my yard. The deer eat in our orchard and I watch the rabbits and birds eat from my porch. I love hunting and have provided all the meat my family eats, deer, elk, bear, partridge, and fish. We live in a quiet peaceful farming community but there is plenty to keep me and my friends busy and happy. We all work from the time we are very young. I have worked as a farm and ranch hand but for the past 3 years I have worked as a well driller. I weld pipe repair drill bits and the rig, and run the cable tool rig. It is an exciting and rewarding occupation. The work is varied and I provide water to those who need it.

Why I am a Mormon

I love the Savior. I know that Jesus Christ loved me enough to suffer for my sins. I have studied the Bible and have come to understand how much Christ loves us. As I read the Book of Mormon I felt the power of His teachings. When I read about his visit to the people here in america I knew that Jesus loves all of us. I read about Joseph Smiths visions I knew God had a prophet again on the earth. I have felt Gods influence in my life. I can talk to Him in prayer, and I will receive an answer, not a vision or a voice but that powerful quiet feeling and I know that the Lord has guided me.

How I live my faith

I love working with my friends and helping the people in our community. We have a lot of older people and live in a cold area so we cut, split, and deliver firewood to those who need it. I enjoy the company of these experienced intelligent and funny personalities. I enjoy reading the scriptures especially in the peace of the outdoors. I organize the students in my school for scripture study and other spiritual activities. I work with the other young men in my are to go camping, have spiritual experiences, and provide service. I am now serving the Lord as a Missionary in the Virginia Chesapeake Mission.
