Hi I'm Makenna Martin

I was born and raised in Utah. I have a twin sister. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love art and design. I grew up playing soccer and golf. I love anything chocolate. I'm a college student. I've had a lot of leadership and service opportunities and experiences.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a family who is very strong in the church. I grew up going to church every week. I was baptized a member of this church when I was eight. As I've grown up, I have learned how it's important to gain a testimony of my own. I cannot progress to where I need to be in this life if I rely on the testimony of others; I need my own. I've had experiences where I have had the chance to turn to Christ and strengthen my testimony. I'm a Mormon because I know that the principles and doctrines of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are true. I know that the Book of Mormon really is the word of God, and I know that Joseph Smith really did restore this church. I know that he saw Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I've had the chance to visit the place where that occurred, and I know what I felt there and I know that it is all true. It all really did happen. I know that we have living prophets and apostles now. I truly know that President Thomas S. Monson is called of God to be the prophet of the Church today, and that he loves us all and is here to help guide us through this life. This Gospel is absolutely true and I love it with all my heart.

How I live my faith

Since I was young, I've had a lot of opportunities to serve in church callings or positions within my wards. I've had the chance to serve with many young women. I've had the opportunity to plan events and activities for my student ward every Monday night for Family Home Evening. I've served in leadership positions where I have represented many young women from my ward. I center my life on the principles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. They help me live life to the fullest and keep my values and standards high. I am who I am because of the Church and the things I have learned being a member of it. I try to be an example of what I believe through my everyday actions. This world has a lot of negative things happening, but I've learned that if you just stay positive and choose to follow Jesus Christ, then everything will be okay. Rely on Him, and just do your best.
