Hi I'm Landon DeCoursey

I grew up with severe asthma. I played Santa Claus twice when I was 18. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a very loving home. My parents never pushed anything on me. And for most of my youth I was a gamer. A hard gamer. My brothers and I would spend hours on the Xbox, it was our thing to do together. I'm also a huge super hero nerd, Star Wars nerd, etc. I was always insecure about my weight which drove me to stay fit and my life has been bless very much because of it. Whether it's yoga to cross fit, I love exercise. I also am a seasonal drawer, I say seasonal because I only draw when a picture comes to my mind and I have an emotional drive to work on it. Other wise I don't draw if I don't have an intense emotional kick behind...unless you count cartoons. I love to draw cartoons, every where!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I love Jesus Christ. I know that Jesus Christ lives and loves me perfectly. I am a Mormon because in this church it gives me hope in the world but more empowering hope in myself. I know that Christ is my spiritual spotter, for lack of a better term, He not only carries me when I have no strength left but also is responsible for any strength I have. He knows my deepest dreams. He knows and understands the thing that is most precious to me. And because of Him I have total trust that one day I shall receive my dream. That's why I worship, that's why I sing. That's why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I am currently attending a congregation that is for single young adults. I currently don't have an assignment in the branch but i have been called to serve a mission in South Carolina. I leave in August. I live my faith by being loyal to my leaders by accepting their counsel and instruction. I pay my tithing because I thirst for the blessings it gives me. I am currently serving a mission for my church. Christ does not want Sunday christians, He expects all His followers to do just that, follow Him do the things He has asked. Christ wants His Gospel spreaded across the world. I am serving in South Carolina so that I can help Christ bring those who are hurt home. To help Him heal them and allow Him to heal me.

What is the First Vision?

Landon DeCoursey
The First Vision is an answer to Joseph Smith's prayer. Joseph was confused about which church to join since many claimed to be the true church of Christ. He went out to a field to pray, as He prayed a pillar of light descended upon him. In this light he saw two figures, God the Father and Jesus Christ appeared to this boy of 15 years of age. I know Joseph Smith saw God the Father and Jesus Christ, God does answer prayers. I have prayed unto God to know for myself if this is true. God has answered my prayer, I have received a witness through the Holy Ghost. Joseph Smith was Chirst's chosen prophet. So experiment this claim, ask God the source of all truth if He did indeed appear to the boy Joseph. Show more Show less
