Hi I'm Kai

I live in Hawaii. Called to the Hanoi Vietnam mission. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love the ocean. Surfing is a big part of my life and I especially enjoy surfing with my siblings and dad. Our family does Taekwondo together and that is very enjoyable. I love to perform the Chinese Lion Dance with my family and also singing and dancing with my family. I love the Polynesian cultures and the school that I went to with all the pride of being an alumni. I am the oldest of six children and my family is everything.

Why I am a Mormon

One early morning my father and I had gone for an early "dawn patrol" surf session. We paddled out through the crystal water and got out to a perfect breaking wave. We surfed for several hours and during a lull I turned to my dad and told him how I was feeling such gratitude for the ocean and nature then something hit me and gave me such assurance that God had created these beautiful things for people to enjoy. He created the earth and everything in it through His Son Jesus Christ and everything that he created testified in a way of His divinity and His love for us. This and many other experiences have layered upon each other to create my belief in and love for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I have felt the redeeming power of my Savior and know that he suffered for my sins and loves me with more love then I can fully comprehend.

How I live my faith

I have been assigned to serve in Vietnam as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I love to sing in the church choir that makes me feel so good as I sing praises to the Lord. I love to read scriptures on my commute into work. I am an assistant in the older youth group at church in which we learn about Christ and His gospel and have fun together as brothers in the church. I love attending missionary preparatory class in the mornings before church in which we learn all about missionary work.
