Hi I'm Ellen!

I'm a Samoan from Auckland, New Zealand. Currently preparing to serve my mission in the Philippines!

About Me

I'm currently 19 years old. My hobbies include playing the piano, writing poetry, learning about other cultures and watching all kinds of Asian dramas (predominantly Korean and Japanese ones LOL). For the most part I've grown up in Auckland, except when I was 12 we moved to Samoa and I spent almost 5 years there. I come from a family of 4 boys and 2 girls. My family is everything to me. I thank my Heavenly Father every day for blessing me with these special (and sometimes annoying) individuals as my best friends. I'm happiest when I'm with them. The choice I've made to serve a mission was a hard one, as it means I'll be away from them for 18 months, but as the saying goes: "A missionary is someone who leaves their family for a short time, so that others may be with their family for eternity". There are millions out there who feel about their family the exact same way I feel about mine, and I want to be able to share with them that those special relationships they have with each other can last through out eternity.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I know that this Church is true. I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God. I love that because of this Gospel we know who we are, why we are here and where we are going/where we can go. The teachings of the gospel brings peace and happiness to my life.

How I live my faith

I'm currently a ward missionary, which is really helping me to prepare for my mission. I strive to live my faith by doing all the things that I know I should be doing such as reading my scriptures and praying everyday. I guess I try to live my faith more through the things I do rather than the things I say. I try to help and to serve others, and I'm so excited to be able to do that full-time for 18 months when I leave to serve my mission in the Philippines next month.
