Hi I'm John

I love the outdoors. I love sports. I love my family and friends. I love being a mormon.

About Me

I live in Utah and I love doing anything outdoors. I love playing basketball. I also played tennis for my high school, and I love to mountain bike and ski. I love making people laugh, and going on vacations and exploring wherever I go. I love music as well, and have played the piano for 14 years! I love my friends and my family and I am always down for a good adventure! I love the gospel and am so grateful for the joy that it has brought me.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of the comfort that this gospel brings me. This gospel simply makes me happy. I know that I can always rely on my Heavenly Father for help and support, and that He will be with me and answer my prayers. I have had a lot of amazing experiences with prayer and I feel like whenever I need help I can always turn to Him for answers. This gospel motivates me to be a better person each day, and to strive to become more Christ-like. I know I will still make mistakes, but with Him on my side all things are possible! The knowledge of the gospel has brought me peace in a difficult world. There are so many different groups pulling you different ways, and it is easy to get distracted. The gospel keeps me centered and helps me to focus on things that are truly important. I am grateful for both the Bible and the Book of Mormon; they work together as companions to teach us more about Christ and His gospel. Every time my testimony has been tried or tested, it has been strengthened, and I now know without a doubt that these things are those which truly lead to happiness. I am so grateful for the positive influence this gospel has had on my life, and I am grateful to be able to live it.

How I live my faith

I participate by doing home teaching to a few families in my neighborhood. I live my faith by participating in service activities and reaching out to others when they are in need. Currently I am living my faith by serving a full-time mission in the Washington DC North Mission, speaking French.

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

John
A testimony is where you have been thinking and praying about something for sometime, and through those prayers and thoughts you come to know it is true. I have a strong testimony of Joseph Smith and the truth of the Book of Mormon because I have read it and prayed to know myself if it was true. It took some time but I now know that these things are true and because of that my testimony has been strengthened. Show more Show less
