Hi I'm Gerry

I grew up in Provo, Utah and have been a member of the LDS Church all my life. I love the Church, and I love Jesus Christ.

About Me

I live in Spanish Fork, Utah and work in the computer industry. My hobbies including reading, writing, playing piano and guitar. I also enjoy long boarding. I am married and have three children. I love being out in nature hiking or walking or simply admiring this beautiful world God has made for us.

Why I am a Mormon

Jesus Christ is the foundation of my testimony. I love Him with all my heart. I have been blessed to be a part of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from birth. When I was young, I went to Church because I didn't have a choice. But when I left home, I had to decide if I wanted to continue going to church or not. Fortunately I had learned enough to make the right decision at that important time in my life, and I have been continually blessed since making it. When I go through difficulties such as losing a loved one, I am so grateful that I can turn to Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ for comfort. I am also grateful to be part of a church that believes in serving others. My wife recently had a heart attack and spent a week in the hospital. She received many visits, and people brought dinners for me and my kids so we could have less to worry about during our time of trial. She has been the target of many prayers, and she is recovering well. We feel very blessed. I am a Mormon because I want to help make the world a better place, and I know that pointing others to Jesus Christ is the very best way that I can do that. He was the most selfless man who ever lived. He gave His life for us, so that we could be forgiven of our sins and return to our heavenly home. He went about doing good, healing the lepers and the blind, showing mercy and kindness to outcasts. He is the perfect example for us, and by following Him our lives and the lives of those around us can be healed and changed. He is the source of all that is good and true in this world. His doctrines and teachings are held sacred by members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day saints, and we believe the Mormon church is the same Church that He organized when He was on the earth. We consider ourselves Christians, and are proud to be His modern-day disciples. I am so grateful for my Savior. Words cannot express the depth of my feelings for Him. I am grateful to be part of His church.

How I live my faith

I am currently directing the choir music for my church and have previously worked with the youth. I love spending time with young people, helping them grow and develop and work through the difficult challenges they are facing. I love sharing the gospel with others, and often do so in my writing. I also have arranged hymns for piano and guitar. The hymns of the LDS church were my motivation for learning to play piano and guitar as an adult. I want to fill my home with music that strengthens my faith in Jesus Christ.
