Hi I'm Jordan Nielsen

I enjoy choking for air after long laugh sessions & competitive ultimate frisbee & day dreaming of my future moped. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a nineteen year old specimen that hails from Price Utah. I am the fourth child in a family of nine. I play the piano and yearn to one day master the legendary six string that is a guitar. I enjoy baking for friends and love to make people smile. I longboard, mountain bike, and waste away Sunday afternoons playing board games that can frequently bring out my competitive spirit, that otherwise can be semi-dormant. I can fish, but I am not quite "Steve Irwin" (is that even a good analogy?) at it. I love to think about doing service, but occasionally my afternoon nap gets in the way. I enjoy hard, sweat-dripping-yard-work . . . sometimes. I love animals and thinking about what goes through my dog's head. Chips and salsa have a major competitor in the form of milk and cookies for my midnight snack. I enjoy every food that I have come across except for pickled artichoke heart. I am mediocre, but thoroughly enjoy, basketball and volleyball (so challenge me to a game, huh?). Also, I did cross country and track :) If you could see the legs in my picture, there would be "rugby thighs" that paid off from doing cross country! (I'm kidding of course. My legs are weak-sauce) I enjoy thrills of searching for Chubacabras in the hills of my backyard, and going on long drives with friends. Simplified, I am an average pre-twenty boy.

Why I am a Mormon

I love the gospel. There are days when I attend church and a speaker just makes me grin from ear to ear. I know what they are saying is true and its what God wants me to hear. Its amazing to be able to feel so much love and peace from a community. I love going to church. I still am able to convince the more elderly people that I deserve one of their treats they carry around to congratulate the children from making it through, whats for them, a long day at church. There is nothing that can compare to the spirit and joy that I receive as I feel God's love emanating from speaker's that have sought personal revelation as they prepare a talk that has been cultivated by revelation to bless the lives of at least one person in the congregation. The gospel opens doors to so many activities and games that can show you the love Christ haves for you. I remember making friends from a night of shooting flaming marshmallows as a young boy. I remember studying knots for hours so that I could advance in Scouting in hopes of attaining the highly coveted Eagle Scout Award. I remember making so many friends in the church and being able to use those friendships when I was going through a hard time in school. I am thankful for absolutely everything that the church has given to me. I have felt for myself that the Book of Mormon is true. I have desires to learn more.

How I live my faith

I was born in a family that lives the gospel. I have served in every Aaronic Priesthood office presidency as I have grown up. I completed my Eagle Project in the form of a blood drive (in which only one person passed out. Win.). I have earned my Duty to God award and am so thankful for the lessons that I was able to learn from that. I love preparing talks and lessons because of the personal insights that I can receive myself. Sometimes my giving of the doctrine gets a little muddled because of my feeling for the necessity of throwing in cheesy-one-liner-jokes every two paragraphs. I graduated seminary and love every single one of the teachers that have taught me. I attend missionary prep classes (mostly for the waffles after every class. Just kidding.) and they have helped me to gain a personal witness that my calling to serve to the Micronesia Guam mission was by personal revelation to the Lord's servants. I strive to follow the impressions of the spirit because I know that will increase my future sensitivity of further promptings.
