Hi I'm Megan Murphy

:) "We are what we believe we are"-C.S Lewis

About Me

I am Mormon because I have a testimony of this gospel. I know that the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the true church. I am so grateful that I grew up in a household that had the gospel present in my everyday life. Some of my interests are art, piano, violin, and running. I did AP art in high school. I love to express how I feel through the pieces I create. Throughout high school I had trials that tested my faith. One of the hardest for me was my depression and back/neck injury. I felt like I had a dark cloud over me, it got to a point where the pain and the dark was consuming me. I asked the question "why me?". I didn't understand. It wasn't until I truly put my trust and faith in the Lord that I started to understand why. With Christ's help and with the knowledge that I wasn't given something that the Lord knew I couldn't handle I started seeing what I was going through in a new light. I realized how strong I had become. I was able to understand others pain and sorrow. I was able to share my experiences with those who needed to hear them. Looking back on those trials I realize that I was never alone and that those weaknesses have now become a strength. With the true love of Christ we can overcome anything in this life. I love my Savior and I am grateful that I know that he understands my every pain and sorrow I have in this life. He knows this because he atoned for each of us individually.

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon because this gospel has brought happiness and joy into my life. My conversion came by doing the small and simple things. Some of these small and simple things are reading the scriptures everyday, praying, and attending church every week. Whenever I had doubts (which everyone at times has questions or doubts) I sought an answer through prayer to my Heavenly Father. I always received an answer to my concerns and questions through prayer. I love this gospel and it has changed me for the better.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by putting my trust in the Lord. I do this by trying to do everything that the Lord asks of me. Some of these things are church callings I have had. I have been a pianist, a visiting teacher, and a leader to the youth. I am living my faith right now by preparing to serve a mission in New Jersey. I am excited to meet and share the gospel with the people there.

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

Megan Murphy
We can come to know our Heavenly Father better by prayer. Through prayer we can talk to him and find that we will receive reassurance and love by doing so. We can also come to know him better by searching and reading the scriptures. I have a testimony that the Lord knows me because he has often answered my questions or helped me through trials when I have read the scriptures. I usually always find a verse in the scriptures that I can relate to and that answers my questions I have. For me being obedient to God's commandments has brought me closer to him. Show more Show less
