Hi I'm Jared

I work at a veterinary hospital, I love to run, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to run. I've been running competitively for 6 years and I ran cross country and track in high school. Now I'm working toward earning my Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree. I love animals and I currently work in a local veterinary hospital. I'm very competitive so I like to play sports; my favorites are soccer and running, but I also enjoy basketball. Music is the best! I play the piano and have been teaching myself the guitar. I also sing, and am part of a choir. I've been a member of the LDS church my whole life and have been called to serve a mission!

Why I am a Mormon

I love the peace and the happiness that I can feel as I follow the teachings of Christ. As I attend church meetings and as I pray and read in the scriptures, I feel...light, almost. I am able to cast off the weight of everyday stresses and focus on something that has eternal significance. I am able to see the world and its inhabitants in a different way, and I am able to find joy because I know what I'm doing is good.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by striving to be the best person I can be. The gospel emphasizes progression, so I spend a lot of time trying to recognize my weaknesses and allow the Lord to turn them into strengths. I refuse to swear, and I avoid harmful substances such as cigarettes and alcohol. I do this because I recognize that by doing so I am protected, and the benefits of avoiding those things are apparent every day. I will also be leaving my home and family to spend two years serving the Lord and His children on an LDS mission.
