Hi I'm Courtney

I'm from Tennessee, I'm working towards becoming an anesthesiologist, I love fly fishing, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a student at BYU-Idaho! I study Human Biology and am working towards going to medical school and becoming an anesthesiologist! I grew up doing a lot of service. I participated in Feed My Starving Children, cleaned up schools in urban areas, and helped get food out to starving communities. I love to fly fish. I also love to camp and hike. I find great joy in being among our Heavenly Father's breathtaking creations!

Why I am a Mormon

Many people ask me why I have chosen to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Although I was born in the church, my parents gave me the opportunity to chose whether or not I wanted to be baptized as a member at age eight. I got baptized and became a member of the church, but my true conversion did not come until later. Before my first year of college, I received a powerful prompting from the Spirit that I was to serve a mission after my first year of college. During my freshman year, I turned my life towards Christ and learned for myself the sure truth of this eternal gospel. Though I cannot describe it in words, I can truly say that the spiritual experiences I have been blessed with were the most beautiful and humbling events in my entire life. The Lord does certainly love each one of us and is ALWAYS there for us.

How I live my faith

Besides community service, I have always found joy in teaching others about our Savior and His sacred mortal ministry. I was given the opportunity to teach the women at my ward back at BYU-Idaho. I had such a wonderful time being able to bear my testimony of the truth of Christ's teachings and the His restored gospel that exists on this Earth today. I read my scriptures diligently and strive to follow in our Savior's footsteps by providing service for others, being a Christ-like example, and encouraging others to come unto Him.
