Hi I'm Aedan

I call the Washington DC area home, I am a college student, I love learning and being outside in nature. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a college student studying accounting. But I'm putting my education on hold for a quick year and a half to share the gospel that has made such a great impact in my life in the Uruguay Montevideo Mission. I love hiking in the mountains, playing sports, playing card games, eating tasty food, and spending time with my family and friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up Mormon so I used to do everything because that's what my family did. But at some point, everyone must be converted. Even those raised Mormon. As I obeyed the commandments and studied the scriptures and the words of modern-day prophets, I felt an inexpressible joy. It filled my heart. I gained a testimony of simple truths I had learned as a child in Primary in a way I hadn't before. I had always believed in them, but then I felt of their truth through the power of the Holy Ghost. I think what is so cool about this gospel is that it is simple -- it can be understood by a child. Yet, there is always more to learn. We always have questions that we are seeking answers for. This keeps us from becoming complacent and stopping our search for truth. I know that God loves each of us. He hears our prayers, knows our hearts, and knows what is best for us. I know that Christ took upon him every pain, sickness, affliction, and infirmity of the world. That is why he is the best one to turn to during hard times. He has experienced the same pain we are going through plus even harder, more painful things! We can find comfort knowing that we are not alone--He knows our pain and can help us overcome our challenge. He loves us and wants nothing more than for us to return to Him. I know that no matter where we are in life, whether we are on the right path, or whether we have made the wrong choices, even if we know better, His hand is always outstretched. He has paid the price for us to become clean again. As Jeffrey R. Holland stated, "It is not possible for you to sink lower than the infinite light of Christ’s Atonement shines." I love the Savior and this gospel. I know that through the Savior, we can not only be forgiven of our sins but also receive the strength to accomplish hard things and ultimately become Christlike. As we use the Atonement, we will feel true joy and realize God's love for us and witness the great things we can accomplish through Him. Alma 26:11-12

How I live my faith

I strive to keep the commandments, follow Christ's example of love, and participate in church. Through callings in the church, I have had the opportunity to teach gospel lessons in church, which has expanded my knowledge and helped my testimony to grow.
